Forty years to the day, and we booked the same restaurant in the same city we'd travelled to as students with almost no money.
I gave her the watch between courses. She turned it over twice before she noticed the date engraved on the back.
She said the sky on the dial looked exactly like the one we walked home under in 1986. I think she's right.
