Auld Lang Syne by the river

After recently finishing Brandon Sanderson's Oathbringer, I was invited to a New Year's tradition. Up until then, I basically just spent my New Years on my own. But a new group of friends invited me to their joint Christmas and New Years tradition of gift-giving, fireworks, and singing Auld Lang Syne down by the Thames.

It came at a time of huge change in my life, and I'm eternally grateful to be included in this special tradition. It, and these friends, have shaped me to be the person I am today, and through thick and thin, lost jobs and dreams, this memory and ongoing ritual provides me comfort and reminds me that love is always waiting for me.
